Questions.

18 answers
  1. We want to give everybody who attends some level of personal attention, and ensure you walk away knowing how to use the latest AI and having built something yourself. We may increase capacity over time, but for now we are keeping it intentionally small so everybody has a 10-out-of-10 experience.
  2. Yes please bring your own personal computer, and don't forget your charger. MacBooks are preferred, but Windows computers work too. Having your own machine, and taking our AI-powered setup home with you, is the right approach to learning these tools.
  3. Yes — your teacher and the staff will help with technical support to get your machine working, and walk you through any issues if and when you get stuck.
  4. Don't worry. Our staff and other students will hold your hand every step of the way and make sure your computer is set up, running, and you're making things by the end of the day.
  5. Please check the refund policy below, it has all the info you need.
  6. Bring them! Due to limited capacity, each attendee needs a separate ticket.
  7. These tools are flexible enough that they should still work on older computers. In rare circumstances a machine may be too old to run the tooling — if that happens, you can use one of the teacher's computers to practice and/or pair with another student. You'll get setup instructions in advance to help you prepare your computer.
  8. Businesses often restrict work computers, so we encourage you to bring your own PERSONAL machine. When we install AI superpowers on your computer they can do incredible things — your company may restrict us from setting that up on a corporate device.
  9. Yes — you'll get an email with setup instructions for your personal computer. We encourage you to set up in advance and purchase a Claude Pro subscription before the day. If you don't have time, our team will help you on the day.
  10. Lunch isn't included in the ticket. Bring your own, or order from The House of KOKO cafe — they've got a beautiful menu of snacks, treats, and everything else you might want to eat.
  11. Yes and no. To get the most out of the Residence you'll want a Claude.ai subscription (£20/month). That unlocks the best-in-class tools.
  12. Your personal Mac or PC, the charger, a notebook, a pen or pencil, good vibes, and all of your past ideas.
  13. The House of KOKO has space to step out. You have permission to take a call or do other work during the Residence. We encourage being present for the full day, but we get it's a workday — and you may find yourself questioning how you've been working after this.
  14. You'll get free access to the Light School AI Maker Residence WhatsApp community to share progress and ask questions. We host the Residence every Friday for the next 5 weeks — you're welcome to come back, continue your project, and get help from other community members.
  15. First — you're more powerful than you think. If you stay the full day, stay present with the team and other builders, and don't build at least one custom-made tool, website, or app, we'll refund you the full ticket price.
  16. Nick Sarafa is a creative technologist with 15 years software engineering, and CTO experience. He now works as an educator working at the intersection of Al, Business and holistic human flourishing. He has taught over 1,800 leaders Al and business, and bridges technical skill with entrepreneurial insight. His teaching style is hands-on, human-first, and designed to bring complex ideas into simple frameworks, and a sense of confidence and momentum. Nick currently works at Light School - offering educational training, purpose-centred business and AI coaching.
  17. The House of KOKO is a private members club in Camden, London, a part of the iconic KOKO music venue. Situated behind and attached to the historic Victorian theatre which is celebrating its triumphant 125th year anniversary this year, members have access to over 150 live shows a year via a private, members’ only balcony, as well as secret live performances backstage, late night DJ sets, parties, cultural events, three restaurants and sixteen beautifully designed spaces from vinyl rooms to a Penthouse recording studio. With Michelin starred chefs, and housing one of the finest contemporary art collections in London, The House of KOKO with its vibrant membership community sit at the forefront of London culture.
  18. We curate small gatherings where the people in the room are the point, and everyone leaves with something they didn't arrive with: an idea, a friend, a tool, a decision, a different version of themselves. An ‘in real-life’ strategy. CHOOSE TO is the smartest room to be in.
